Since 1976, the Åke Sahlin Scholarship Fund has annually awarded scholarships to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional skills in the packaging field. Are you currently or have you previously been a student in the packaging field? Or do you work professionally in this area? Do you have new ideas about packaging that you’d like to explore, or are you interested in furthering your education by attending a course, trade fair, or conference? History and Mission
Åke Sahlin (1902–1976) held several prominent positions throughout his career within the packaging, paper, and trade industries. His contributions have been highly significant for the Swedish packaging industry and export sector. Åke’s final role was as chairman of the Swedish Packaging Association. The association’s CEO, and honorary chairman of the Swedish Packaging Guild (SFG), Stig Bergstedt, established the scholarship fund as a tribute on Åke Sahlin’s 70th birthday. To date, over 40 scholarships have been awarded, and we hope to continue these grants for many years to come. See all previous recipients here.
