Coffeebot Fika With the Guild
The Coffeebot Fika activity, also known as Kaffeslump, aims to provide a much needed fika break during your day. It brings an opportunity to get to know a new colleague from the same industry as you; a new person to discuss packaging with! In addition to inspiring packaging discussions over a cup of coffee (or your personal choice of fika beverage), it paves the way for new ideas and collaboration opportunities among our members.
The concept is to have a digital coffee break with another member of the Guild. You agree on the date and time with your fika buddy, and we recommend scheduling a 20 minutes session to start with.
All new members are automatically added to the participants list, but participation is of course voluntary. If you do not wish to participate, just let us know and we will make the necessary changes.

Sign Up for the Coffeebot Fika
Please sign up using your private email address (scroll down to use the fika form). If you quit your current job and forget about the Coffeebot, someone else will end up with a ghost address and miss out on their coffee that week.

How the Coffeebot Fika Works
Every 4 weeks on Monday, the participants are randomly paired with someone they have not yet had a coffee with, like a fika roulette. You can choose to participate less often, like every 8 och 12 weeks every weeks if you prefer. When you are paired with another participant, an email is sent to you and your coffee buddy, and then you have at least 4 weeks to arrange a digital coffee break before the next pairing occurs.
We can be a bit flexible, should you need a pause from the activity;
- Ability to pause your participation until a specified date
- Participation at your chosen weekly interval; 4 – 8 – 12 etc.
- If we have an odd number of participants, one of the coffee pairs will have three participants.
Purpose
The purpose aligns with the Guilds core activity: networking. It’s about getting to know each other a bit. Most people can spare 20 minutes and if you feel that you have more to say to each other, you can stay a bit longer or schedule a follow-up meeting.
This is how we build our own brand. By networking, we keep our social connections alive and relevant. Honestly, who cares about your number of contacts on LinkedIn? When asked if you know someone suitable for a certain role, do you think of them, or do you think of that interesting person you had coffee with last autumn?
The Process
Not everyone in the Guild has access to Microsoft Teams, and the same goes for other programs, phone models, or whatever it might be. We needed to find a way to keep it as simple and accessible as possible, regardless of organizations, licenses, and individual technical skills.
The result was to rely on our Google account. The Coffeebot Fika emails contain no links and are only sent to you and one other person, so they shouldn’t get caught in spam filters. However, this can still happen so when you receive your coffee pairing, don’t wait to contact your coffee buddy. You never know, he or she might have missed the email.
Practical Tips
The pairing is done on a weekly basis at a simple level. If you’ve chosen to be paired every 8th week, your email address will be paired every week number that is evenly divisible by 8, i.e., only even weeks. If you’ve chosen the standard 4 weeks interval, you’ll be paired every week number that is evenly divisible by 4, and so on.
Align on the date and time ASAP
As mentioned, when you receive your fika pairing, don’t wait to contact your coffee buddy. You never know, they might have missed the message.

PLEASE let us know so we can check if their email address is correct or if there’s another issue. We don’t want inactive addresses on the participants list.
